My First Book, What I learned.

I watched a lot of YouTube and TikTok videos. I knew that I wanted to get my writings published and had no idea had to do that. Let me start by saying 2 years after I started this project I have learned so much. There is no right way to do this, or wrong way but the one thing you should know is everyone is looking to get paid. Keep this in mind as you are trying to find your way through self publishing. Even the people posting those videos might be getting sponsored.

That being said, that is ok. It is a business. When you are an Artist you might not be a business person but you will have to be as you navigate through this process. I will say that I had help with both books, even with self publishing . I am very proud and happy with both of my books. I continue to learn and as each new book is ready to get to publishing they might all look different on their journeys. There is not a straight line.

If you are a poet I would tell you that the best site I have ever joined is AllPoetry. It’s a great platform to gain confidence and swim in the same water with other poets. I published my first collection with them and they helped me, tremendously.

My First collection Teachings Of The Olive Trees and Bumblebees was my first book and the love that went into that book was long and deep. But I waited to long to publish it because of fear.

Don’t wait, publish the book.
